MasterCraft Safety – A premier Off-Road manufacturing company in Santee, CA. has an opportunity for a motivated Mechanical Designer. Successful candidate MUST have a minimum of 10,000 hours (5 years) of SolidWorks CAD experience. An Associates Degree in Drafting/Design is preferred. 10 years experiences will be considered in lieu of the Associates Degree. Must be able to work in small a company environment and be able to handle all aspects of product documentation. The individual must be able to work well with others to include engineering, quality, production and management personnel.

Experience / Position Responsibilities:
  • Must be a self starter and work well without supervision. Must be skilled at using Windows software like Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point. MS Publisher and Adobe Acrobat a plus.
  • Must be an expert with SolidWorks CAD and PDM Works. Expert at creating CAD solid models, mating parts in assemblies, working with multi-body parts in complex assemblies.
  • Skilled in creating detailed drawings of welded structures, sheet metal parts, and assorted consumer products. Good knowledge of documenting welded tubular frames, sewn together fabrics and webbing, and creating templates or patterns for cutting fabrics and sewing them together. Must be experienced with drawing machined parts, welded and complex assemblies. fixtures. Experience drawing forged, cast, and stamped parts, tooling and fixtures is a plus.
  • Must have knowledge of Bill of Materials and manufacturing.
  • Able to reverse engineer parts using precision measuring tools. Should have knowledge of multiple materials, including metals, plastics, composites, fabrics, and finishes and coatings.
  • Good knowledge of ASME drawing standards and experienced at implementing and maintaining them.
  • Must have a basic understanding of drawing control and Configuration Management.
